That wraps the series up. Although inconsequential in terms of the series, it's an important win for India as it'll lift their spirits heading into a long home season. It probably wasn't as clean as they would've liked but they'll take it. England won't be too flustered about it if at all, they gave some of their younger players an opportunity and it was about experimenting for them tonight. That's all we've got for you. Take care and goodbye.
Heather Knight | England captain: Really good learning, decided to rest some players and give others an opportunity. Again a really good crowd in, hopefully a good experience for some of our youngsters on about how to keep their composure under pressure. Shreyanka bowled really well. Didn’t quite apply ourselves well enough. Think we didn’t bat as well as we liked, probably would’ve been closer if we’d got 140 on the board. Lot of positives, we did well to put the pressure back on them and also learnt a lot about some of our younger players.
Nat Sciver-Brunt | Player of the Series: Really happy to perform. Had a bit of a rest tonight. Was a special game of cricket that was enjoyable for the fans. Slightly slower wicket and less consistent than in the first game. The Indians bowled very well to us and made it difficult. [On what’s important to her batting] The tempo and committing to my shots, they’re things I’ve been working on and it’s going pretty well. There’s always going to be a different situation, adaptability is important.
Shreyanka Patil | Player of the Match: Very happy, first time me getting a 3-fer, my family and coach were watching. Very happy and want to continue this performance. The experience I got in the WPL and India-A team helped, very happy to be a part of the Indian squad, enjoying it. Huge experience for me to be bowling in tandem with Deepthi, she’s been backing me, she’s been having chats with me both on the field and off it. Looking forward to bowling with her. I enjoyed all three wickets, hard to pick one.
Harmanpreet Kaur | India captain: I’ll be fine, used to these niggles. We have improved as a team, we always needed game time and our team showed today that we’ll keep improving with every game. Was important to hang in there and do what was required for the team. Some balls were turning and some were going straight off the spinners so there’s always a doubt in your mind as a batter. As a batting group, we wanted to pick the balls, the left-right combination also played a big role for us.
Smriti Mandhana: First two matches didn’t go the way we wanted. We knew that this win will be important going into the Test despite losing the series. Back to back games little tough on the body. Didn’t quite bat the way I wanted at the start but got going towards the end. Really happy to contribute to the win. We bowled really well, they probably got 10-15 runs extra at the end but it was an amazing bowling performance. It was the same wicket as the last game, the target was not very difficult but we really had to apply ourselves. Lot easier to be out there than to watch but Amanjot played really well and got us over the line.
22:09 Local Time, 16:39 GMT, 22:09 IST: India win the match but England the series.
