Phoebe Litchfield, the future Meg Lanning of Australian cricket. Just watch out for her. She may have missed out on a well-deserved hundred, but the baby-faced 20-year old displayed great strength and application to wade her way out of trouble after a scratchy start. Thanks to her knock, and the association with the legendary Perry, Australia have gone 1-0 up in the series with 2 more to go.
Phoebe Litchfield | Player of the Match:
Alyssa Healy | Australian skipper: Great night for us, great to get off to a win at the start of the series and lots to play for
Harmanpreet Kaur | Indian skipper: I think we managed a good score, but I think the fielding was not upto the mark. It is something that didn't really work well for us. After a while, dew was there but the bowlers were trying their best to attack the stumps, but fielding was something I feel played a really big role today
Ellyse Perry: It was awesome fun to be out there with Phoebe. We spoke about it after the Test match, I thought Phoebe batted especially well and the girls did a great job in the end there. It's really nice conditions to bat here and I think we have been pushed by India in whatever format we play against and I think we gotta raise the bar and we managed that really nice tonight. The total was roundabout par and particularly with the lights coming on, the ball was coming on really well. We had lots of fun over the last few days. Today the way we came out and started, the energy in our fielding was backed up by the bowling and it was nice to finish off with a win as well.
20:40 local, 15:10 GMT, 20:40 IST: Second highest successful run-chase in the history of Women's cricket. Who's surprised? It's Australia. The mighty Australia. No Meg Lanning, no problem
