That's all from the first game. We have another coming up in just over 90 minutes. Take a break and be back for Islamabad v Lahore. See you on the other side..
Shan Masood: I and the management were pretty clear we wanted to bowl. I have played enough cricket here, with the rain around, we thought there would be a bit of moisture early on. We lost three in a row and it was about getting out of that rut. Happy we could get that win. Destiny is still in our hands but we have to play good cricket. We liked the intent with the ball, every bowler bowled well in tandem and that allowed the partner to take wickets. We got the best of the conditions as a batting unit, I should take it game by game and just believe there's a big score round the corner.
Hasan Ali | Player of the Match: We all know the conditions are not suitable for fast bowling here, I am a strong believer if you bowl the right line and lenghts then you can succeed. As a bowling unit we speak about getting early wickets and bowling the right areas, lucky we won the toss today. I am happy with my performances, whenever the captain has given me the ball I have delivered. I have been working really hard for the past two months. We have a new born baby in the house and I want to dedicate my award to her.
Rilee Rossouw: Karachi had the better of the conditions. The ball was doing a bit in the first innings. But we didn't assess the conditions quickly and that cost us a few runs, so we came out and fought hard with the ball. We just move on and look forward to the next game. We thought it was a 200 wicket but it was a 160 wicket, you don't expect that in Rawalpindi.
Shoaib Malik - Definitely, we are very pleased and this game was very important considering our placing in the points table. We're treating each game as a final and our aim is to keep winning. I have been trying to not be predictable (with the ball), I've developed a yorker and mixed up my variations. I'm glad to be contributing to the team and look forward to doing the same for the rest of the tournament. You can rotate strike by staying in the crease, but my strength is coming down the pitch and trying to play the spinners. I've been dismissed a couple of times trying to do so, but I'll stick to my strengths.
17:07 Local Time, 12:07 GMT, 17:37 IST: The chase was never in doubt. Karachi Kings cruised to a 7-wicket win with 27 balls to spare. Masood went early but the overseas pair of Vince and Seifert added a 50+ stand to keep the chase on track. After the partnership was broken, Malik walked out and kept things calm - he rotated the strike and played the big hit only when the target was in sight. Seifert missed out on a fifty but had taken the Kings on the brink of victory. Quetta Gladiators fought hard and bowled a lot of spin but they didn't have enough runs on the board to challenge the Kings. A much needed win for Karachi Kings as it keeps them in the hunt for a top four finish. Hang around for the presentations..
