Overs: 45.6
Losing the toss and putting on a 95-run opening stand literally sealed the deal for the hosts. The bowling team usually choses to bowl here in day games hoping to make use of the early moisture and get breakthroughs but Bennett was great with his mix of attack and cricket smarts. So that's certainly one way to win cricket games at this venue. And another key aspect is grabbing hold of the game in the middle overs with the ball - Zimbabwe were good there as well. Each game is a different challenge. How will the side approach the second ODI? We will see you all on Sunday. Take care!
Ervine: I thought Bennett batted really well
Stirling: First of all I would like to congratulate Brian for his knock. We have areas to work on ourselves as well. It was as good as a wicket I have seen at Harare Sports Club for a while. 300 was chasable. At 30 overs we were in the hunt
Brian Bennett is the PoTM:
17:13 Local Time, 15:13 GMT, 20:43 IST: A win by 49 runs and they controlled this defence pretty well. If not for that 73-run stand for the 7th wicket this could have been worse for Ireland.
