Sikandar Raza:
Paul Stirling: I think it would have been a good game. It would have been an interesting chase. Young has been awesome. He missed the ODIs unexpectedly.
21:48 Local Time, 19:48 GMT, 01:18 IST: The game has been called off! The rain came down after the first innings after disrupting the start of the game. The second time it took its toll on the game and we won't have result. The groundsmen did try their best towards the end but sadly we had run out of time. Zimbabwe and Ireland would be gutted as this had the ingredients to be a good game.
Sikandar Raza: I thought Tony has been fantastic. Saw Burly hitting some big hits. The way Bennett has carried the team. Gwandu has been good. The bar has been set high by Blessing and Richard. So many positives. We put ourselves in good positions. Rain might have played a part. We will take the 1-0 win. The total was good under lights and on a slow track. Last day of the summer for us here at home. Now, we will be travelling. We should look to get our ceilings higher and higher. The end goal is to qualify for the T20 WC in India. We have our fitness program. Luckily, we have two days off. We have Canada coming in. We have Durham coming in as well. Stirling has been impressed with the crowd. They lift us up when the chips are down. Our crowd plays a huge part in our home games. Very soon they should be travelling abroad to support us as well.
Paul Stirling: I think it would have been a good game. It would have been an interesting chase. Young has been awesome. He missed the ODIs unexpectedly. Getting a Test win was exceptional. We should have capitalized in the ODI series. Have been to Zimbabwe so many times but would be roaming around this time.
21:44 Local Time, 19:44 GMT, 01:14 IST: There is some movement now. Few groundsmen are trying to peel off the big cover. This has to be considered as good news.
21:25 Local Time, 19:25 GMT, 00:55 IST: A few officials with umbrells hoisted up have gathered near the covers. We are not privy to their confab
21:16 Local Time, 19:16 GMT, 00:46 IST: Not a single groundsmen near the covers and the 22 yards anymore. The covers are firmly placed.
21:03 Local Time, 19:03 GMT, 00:33 IST: The covers are coming in now.
20:55 Local Time, 18:55 GMT, 00:25 IST: This is a good total posted by Zimbabwe after being put into bat. They did not seem to get to 140 because of the slow start and losing a couple of early wickets. Raza though gave some impetus to the innings before perishing. But it was the 6th wicket partnership between Munyonga and Musekiwa that got Zimbabwe past the 140-mark. The pair batted with a bit of flair and kept picking up the boundaries. The wicket is not a belter nor is the outfield fast, so this will take some chasing from Ireland if they are to level the series. We'll be back soon with their reply..
